Sadly, we recently had the heartbreaking news that Mark is terminally ill and only has a short time left with his friends and family, but most importantly his wife and two young children.
None of us expect to hear such devastating news at a young age, knowing that you’re unable to watch your children grow up. This is the incredibly sad reality for Mark who’s managing the time he has left to enjoy life to the fullest and make memories for his children.
To help Mark and his family through this last stage of his life, I thought it was only right to try and raise some money to pay for a holiday, take a trip to the beach, or contribute to whatever they feel will make this time special. To do to this, I have signed up to run Hadrian’s Wall on the 13th June 2026 and would be incredibly grateful for any donations that can be provided, big or small.
Given that Mark is an incredibly talented runner (one of those annoying people that breezes along and makes it look effortless!) I was only ever going to do a running challenge. When I then thought about what Mark would consider a decent challenge, that’s when I realised I might have made a mistake! The run along Hadrian’s Wall is over challenging terrain, covers 70 miles (a little under 3 marathons), and must be completed under 26 hours. For someone who’s only ever run a half marathon, this is quite the undertaking for me!
Mark & his family would greatly appreciate your support.
