Support My Ride for Run For The Wall 2025
My name is Mark Bish. I am a U.S. Army Veteran and a proud Road Captain in the Patriot Guard Riders of California. This May, I am embarking on a coast-to-coast ride with an organization called Run For The Wall (RFTW). This ride honors our Military Veterans, their families, and their friends while raising awareness for those still missing—Prisoners of War (POW) and those Missing in Action (MIA).

The journey, often called a “run” by riders, begins in Ontario, California, and after 10 days, concludes at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C.

About Run For The Wall
Run For The Wall was founded in 1989 by a group of Vietnam Veterans who rode across the country on motorcycles, speaking with local media about the thousands of service members still unaccounted for from past wars.

This mission continues today. Each May, RFTW riders uphold this tradition, traveling from coast to coast and, since 2022, from Wall to Wall. Run For The Wall does not engage in political speeches or demonstrations. Instead, we spread our message by riding safely, obeying traffic laws, and treating all citizens with respect. Our motto is:

“We Ride For Those Who Can’t.”

More Than Just a Ride
Beyond raising awareness, Run For The Wall provides veterans—both from Vietnam and other conflicts—a long-overdue “Welcome Home” and a supportive environment for healing.

Many service members return home with unresolved challenges, and their families experience the emotional toll of military service as well. RFTW fosters camaraderie and healing, offering a space where veterans and their loved ones can begin to lift the burdens they have carried for years.

During the run, participants become more than just fellow riders—they become family. Witnessing a veteran take steps toward healing is a powerful and deeply meaningful experience.

My Journey & How You Can Help
I will be riding over 6,000 miles, beginning from my home in the Bay Area to Ontario, California (the starting point of the Central Route). From there, we will ride across the country for 10 days, finishing in Washington, D.C.

After reaching D.C., I will join fellow riders for an additional journey on the Sandbox Route, traveling to Merseilles, Illinois, for more commemorative events.

While this ride serves thousands of veterans and supporters across the nation, the costs for fuel and lodging add up quickly. This is where you can make a difference.

My goal is to raise a minimum of $3,000 to help offset travel expenses for myself and other riders, ensuring they can complete this mission safely. Every dollar raised will go directly toward supporting riders and covering essential costs.

Additionally, along the route, we make several stops at schools to educate students about our mission. Part of your donation will help provide school supplies to these children.

Follow the Journey & Make a Request
I will be sharing updates throughout the run (May 13-28, 2025) on both the Run For The Wall Facebook page and my own page,

If you have a family member or friend whose name is on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, and you would like a rubbing of their name, please leave a comment with their name and your contact information. I will do my best to bring it back for you and honor their story.
