A few months ago, I learned how to make these awesome chunky blankets. I have made one for all my friends, and I am obsessed! Then one day it hit me, being a cancer survivor about to hit my 5-year cancer-free goal, I thought, why not give a blanket to those going through cancer? I remember well, when Kevin was going through treatment and, when I was sitting for hours on end in the chemo room, how it’s always cold, and every cancer patient around me had or asked for a blanket. I want to give back, pay it forward! With whatever you decide to donate towards the yarn, I will attach your name and whatever quote or verse, whatever it is you’d like to say, on a note to go with the blanket. My goal is to deliver these to the Ronald McDonald House and The Mitchell Cancer Centers. Just a way to pass on a “blanket hug” from us to them in one of the most difficult times most will ever face. If just for a smile, and knowing for a moment they are not alone, can make such a difference in what may have started as a tough day. We all have been affected by cancer in some way or another, and this is just a way to let someone know they are loved! I will make sure that you receive a picture of the blanket I make along with your name and words attached to that blanket.
Much love and blanket hugs,
Marjorie
