Help Rebuild Our Family Home from Hurricane Milton
Beschermde donatie

Hi everyone,
I wanted to take a moment to share an update during what has been the hardest time of my life. Since I last posted, my mom has tragically passed away. She was not only my best friend but also the heart of our family—a selfless, loving, and God-fearing woman who always put others before herself. Losing her has left an immeasurable void in our lives.
As some of you know, we were already dealing with the devastation caused by Hurricanes Milton and Helen, which flooded her home. Now, we’re trying to honor her memory and lay her to rest while also addressing the financial burdens of rebuilding her home and covering her final expenses.
If you’re able to support us, whether through a donation or simply by sharing this GoFundMe with others, it would mean so much. Thank you to everyone who has already reached out with love, prayers, and generosity—it has brought us comfort during this unimaginable time.

Please continue to keep our family in your thoughts and prayers.
We are asking for donations to help cover the cost of Marjorie Romain’s funeral. We need to raise enough to help cover any cost me and my siblings might not have to be able to afford the funeral service.
Please consider donating, as any amount will truly help our family during this difficult time.
THE STORY BEFORE THE STROKE
My name is Beverly, and my mom's name is Marjorie Romain. My mom is the kindest and most generous person you could ever meet. Ever since late 2019 till now, my mom has been battling Lupus and heart disease. She’s a single mother with me, my sister Mali, and my little brother Ryan. I’ve even moved to Florida and stayed to be a support and caregiver to her ever since she lost her job as a radiologist for Cardinal Health due to her Lupus restrictions. That was the hardest thing for my mom and caused her even more stress and hardships to the point she had strokes back to back with no answer as to why. Eventually, I had to help sell her house back in 2021, and she worked 5 years to get it, only to be unable to pay her bills while immobile.
Luckily, by the grace of God and my quick thinking, I could sell her home and invest in another home she owns now. She has been so independent and motivated to get better so that she can live to see my brother graduate HS since he was battling his autism and my mom's health condition. Everything was looking okay up until recently. These past 3 months (July to now), she’s been having strokes back to back, and last month (August), she had a stroke and heart attack with a 260/190 BMI. Doctors even said she should’ve been dead, but my God is greater, and she is a fighter, so she bounced back the next day and was her normal self a week later. She was getting back into her treatments for blood transfusions, and I was helping her try and get all her meds regulated and updated, but on August 27th at 7:30 am, I got a call from my brother saying he found my mom bleeding out the mouth and having a stroke. Once I was at the hospital, I was also informed by police that the ambulance transporting her was also in an accident. She had to be transferred to another one. I don't know what will if that doesn’t tell you something evil is trying to take her from us. After being in the hospital for over a week and a half, she’s had 2 emergency surgeries, including the removal of her left skull, and she’s on oxygen, not able to speak or move on her own. Last night (Sept 4th), I was informed that she now has 3 bacterial infections in her bloodstream attacking her arteries. They presume that she will no longer survive this way if she’s kept on oxygen support, and we were given a choice of her survival. Right now, we are still holding on to faith and hoping that she needs a little more time to recover her brain, and hopefully, she won’t be completely gone or left to “die comfortably.” Eventually we were able to visit her at the rehab and seen the progress she was making but still even with the progress she still need LTC and with her home still condemned by the hurricane aftermath and lack of family or assistance the facility struggled to find placement at a nursing home that would take her in that condition. After a week from that call of not being able to find placement I was given a call November 9, 2024 at 6:48pm my mother went into cardiac arrest and was struggling to be revived… just 12 days before her birthday 11/22
