My name is Sarah Gomez, I am urgently seeking financial support for my father Mario Gomez in his fight to stay in the United States.
Mario is a father of 5 and grand father to 14. A 72-year-old retired carpenter who has always been hardworking, loving, and passionate in his life. He is a core part to our family and has sacrificed so much. To me, personally, he has been the man I always look up to and lean on for guidance, comfort, and support, he is undoubtedly my best friend. He loves unconditionally and unapologetically, he has turned his entire life around to better serve himself, his family, and his community.
In August of 2024, my father faced a terrifying moment where he was detained and taken by ICE agents to the Otay detention facility, to begin the process of his deportation. He has been in the United States well over 40 years, working and serving his community for decades. Once his health declined he was unable to work and began his request for supplemental security income, he was taken away from his family soon after. He was in the detention center for 5 months and has been continuing his fight with his family at home for over a year now.
The cost of legal support is a heavy burden on our family, so we are reaching out to anybody and everybody who is willing and able to help. If you are able to help financially to keep our fight going, we would be inexplicably appreciative of your support. Any donation or link shared is one step further in keeping my father with his family at home, in California, where he belongs.
Thank you for your attention and support.
- Sarah Gomez
