My name is Marina Burroughs. Last year I became a member of the largest Property Owners Association in Texas! Our community has 4200 lots and approximately 2700 members.

As soon as I became a member I got overcharged and I was told that: what happened to me is the policy for "all transactions of this type".

We took the Association to Court and the lawsuit is ongoing. I created a blog to share my experience and story, and for the first time ever I ran for a President of the Association.

This fundraiser is my early campaign for President of Cherokee Shores Owners Association. I am starting early to bring awareness to my candidacy, gain much needed members' support and to promote members' rights.

We ask for your help with many much needed and ongoing expenses :

$10 - pays for office supplies;

$20 - pays for gas;

$50 - pays for research;

$80 - pays for printer ink;

$1000 - pays for direct-mail postcards;

$3000 - pays for a letter to every member;

$$$ - pays for legal advice.

Right now - we do what we can, with more funds- we could do much more.
