Hello, My name is Ivette, also known as Vee by close ones. This is my moms story. These past few months have been a long experience for my family and me. Especially for my mom. December 1st 2024 we had to rush to the emergency room because my moms discomfort on her foot was not getting any better. We got told her pain was due to an open wound infection that was slowly getting worser. December 6 2024, she got discharged from the hospital and was told all she needed was for them to clean her wound, and for us to check up with the doctor in a few days. We hoped for the best. December 12 2024, we were back in the ER, this time the doctors check up was the reason we had to go back. My moms pain was worser, her infection was not fully gone and was now taking over all her toes, making some of the tissue in her toes die. The next day she was taken to the surgery room, her toes had to be amputated. It was a difficult moment and decision for my mom and also us. But as long as my mom was still able to walk, be healthy and safe we were okay with anything. We were told her recovery will take a few days but she needed to stay in the hospital, although we were okay with any procedure my mom needed, December 16 2024, we were home and my mom called us early morning to tell us the doctor had talked to her about her process, and that it hadn’t get any better. The infection was already on spreading to her bone. And she was more vulnerable to blood infection. My moms only solution for her to be out of danger and to be with us more years as the doctor told her, was to accept getting a below the knee amputation. It was definitely the hardest decision my mom had to take. But all she wanted was to be with us even longer. We only wanted the best for my mom. So we all agreed and December 17 2024, we found ourselves in the surgery room one last time. Seeing my mom be in pain but fighting to live more and accepting the most difficult test of her life, reminded me of how much of a strong mother I have. That is why today I am coming on here to try and help my family especially my father who is the only one working right now, raise at least a few money needed for my moms prosthetic. We want a chance to see her walk again and do all the activities she used to do. Any amount of donations given will be appreciated. It would help make a change to our family. She has no insurance so anything donated will go to my moms process for her prosthetic and whatever is left to some of her hospital bills.

Hola, mi nombre es Ivette, también conocida como Vee. Esta es la historia de mi mami. Estos últimos meses han sido una larga experiencia para mi familia y para mí. Especialmente para mi mamá. El 1 de diciembre de 2024 tuvimos que correr a la sala de emergencias porque el malestar de mi madre en su pie no estaba mejorando. Nos dijeron que su dolor se debía a una infección de una herida abierta que estaba empeorando lentamente. El 6 de diciembre de 2024, fue dada de alta del hospital y le dijeron que todo lo que necesitaba era que le limpiaran la herida y que la revisáramos con el médico en unos días. Esperábamos lo mejor. El 12 de diciembre de 2024, estábamos de vuelta en la sala de emergencias, esta vez el chequeo con el médico fue la razón por la que tuvimos que volver. El dolor de mi madre era peor, su infección no había desaparecido por completo y ahora se estaba apoderando de todos sus dedos, haciendo que parte del tejido de sus dedos de los pies muriera. Al día siguiente la llevaron al quirófano, sus dedos de los pies tuvieron que ser amputados. Fue un momento difícil y una decisión fuerte, tanto para nosotros y para mi mami. Pero mientras mi mamá todavía pudiera caminar, estar sana y a salvo, estábamos bien con cualquier cosa. Nos dijeron que su recuperación tardaría unos días, pero necesitaba permanecer en el hospital, aunque estábamos bien con cualquier procedimiento que mi mamita necesitara, el 16 de diciembre de 2024, estábamos en casa y mi mami nos llamó temprano en la mañana para decirnos que el médico había hablado con ella sobre su proceso, y que no había mejorado. La infección ya se estaba extendiendo a su hueso. Y ella era más vulnerable a la infección de la sangre. La única solución que mi mami tenía para que ella estuviera fuera de peligro y estuviera con nosotros más años, como le dijo el médico, era aceptar una amputación por debajo de la rodilla. Definitivamente fue la decisión más difícil que tuvo que tomar mi mami. Pero lo único que ella quería era estar con nosotros aún más tiempo. Solo queríamos lo mejor para mi madre. Así que todos estuvimos de acuerdo y el 17 de diciembre de 2024, nos encontramos en el quirófano por última vez. Ver a mi mamá con dolor, pero luchando por vivir más y aceptando la prueba más difícil de su vida, me recordó que tengo a una mujer muy fuerte cómo mi mamá. Y por eso que hoy vengo aquí para tratar de ayudar a mi familia, especialmente a mi papá , que es el único que trabaja en este momento, recaudar al menos un poco de dinero necesario para la prótesis de mi mami. Queremos tener la oportunidad de verla caminar de nuevo y hacer todas las actividades que solía hacer. Cualquier cantidad de donaciones otorgadas será apreciada. Ayudaría a hacer un cambio en nuestra familia. Ella no tiene seguro así que todo irá al proceso de mi madre para su prótesis y lo que quede para algunas de sus facturas de hospital.
