My name is Maria Palicuk. I am an immigrant from Slovakia and a single mother raising two wonderful boys on my own after the sudden loss of my husband. Life has tested me in ways I never imagined, but through every challenge, I have discovered a strength deeper than I knew.

I am honored to run the Tokyo Marathon 2026 for the charity of Madre Bonita—a cause that represents hope, support, and empowerment for mothers like me who face life’s hardest moments with courage.

We want to support all women and inspire them to follow their dreams, despite the obstacles and setbacks life brings. It’s never too late to start a journey that is meant to better your physical and mental well-being.

Running this marathon is more than a race—it is a symbol of resilience and love. It is a promise to my sons and to myself that, even through hardship, we can rise, persevere, and achieve our dreams.
