My name is Steven Hoyt and I am desperately trying to raise money for Maria Vasquez and her son Remi. Maria and her son are in desperate need of financial help. On August 12, 2025, Maria's husband Rico was killed in a horrible car accident, and their family lost their sole provider and nucleus of their small family. Rico has always provided them with everything they needed, although he made little money. The two now have to figure out how to pay their rent, utilities, and so on without any source or family to help! She is driving with no insurance, and they are rationing small amounts of food to try and get by. Maria is physically and mentally exhausted, depressed, and stressed out with fear of what's next. Rico was their rock. She has to house, feed, and clothe herself and her devastated son Juan long enough to raise enough money to get back home to Juarez, Mexico, where her only relative, her grandma, lives. She has to pay $700 a month rent, feed them, and keep the lights on until they can get to Mexico.

I'm trying to raise $5000 for her to keep them housed, lights on, fed, and fuel for the trip. She is devastated and speaks just enough English to communicate. She has no identification, her phone is about to get terminated, and I feel for her little boy and her—they have nothing! I have, with fear, used my info and created her a co-JPay account and started the donation with $150 to help these people who are in a country not theirs, far from home, with no help, no family other than her grandmother, and she has very little! If we can raise enough to keep her and her son with a roof over their head, electricity on, feed them, and gasoline for the trip, it would be greatly appreciated by the two! I want to help her so bad; her little boy is hurt, confused, and scared! I want to be able to give her a prepaid card with the funds they need to stay here while they raise the money to get home! Please help them; it's super sad and unfortunate. Rico was a good dad, husband, and he was a hard worker and super person. We are trying to get $5000 because $2300 is owed to Geisler Funeral Home, and the rest should assist them in any needs they have to get home!
