Margaux Help to Families Devastated by Super Typhoon

Hi, my name is Jan Michael Bajillo.

We recently went home to our hometown in Negros Occidental for a much-needed break after caring for our newborn. We stayed at my wife’s family home in Pontevedra.

Sadly, on Tuesday, November 4, a super typhoon struck our area. What began as a Signal No. 1 warning quickly escalated to Signal No. 4 in just a short time. The people in our neighborhood were shocked as floodwaters rose rapidly—reaching above waist level before anyone could react.

Because our community is surrounded by fishing ponds and fallen trees, many couldn’t escape right away. We were saved only because of the bravery and unity of our neighbors. They helped us secure our baby Margaux by lending small fishing boats and guiding us to climb up a water tank for safety. Everyone was helping each other—carrying the elderly and disabled through the strong current despite the danger.

In the aftermath, many families lost everything: their homes made of nipa huts, their livestock, clothes, food, and appliances. Though we’ve already donated food and rice to those affected, the need is still overwhelming.

As a way to give back to the community that saved us, I am reaching out to ask for your help. Any amount you can share will go directly toward providing food, clothing, school and essential supplies to those who lost their homes.

Your kindness will go a long way in helping these families rebuild their lives.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read our story and for extending your support.
