Dear Nola community and beyond, please support Margaret and Evie McIntyre Van Ryckeghem as they recover from the loss of their home due to a house fire on the morning of November 27th. In the early morning of Thanksgiving Day, my cousin Margaret received a call from her neighbor who saw smoke coming from Margaret's roof through an alert on their Ring camera — sadly informing her that her home was engulfed in flames. Tragically, the fire spread beyond control, destroying the home, all of Margaret and her daughter Evie's belongings, and partially damaging her vehicle. We are incredibly grateful and blessed that Margaret and Evie are safe and happened to be out of town for the Thanksgiving holiday visiting family, but as you can imagine, they are devastated and facing a heartbreaking and overwhelming road ahead.
Margaret and Evie lost their home and the majority of their belongings. They are now in urgent need of support for temporary housing, clothing, food, and replacing essential items. The coming weeks will be especially challenging as they work to navigate this tragic loss, and every bit of help will make a real difference. Their home has always been a special place of warmth, laughter, and love - and it would make all the difference for you to return this kind of graciousness and generosity.
Thank you for helping support Margaret and Evie through this difficult time. Please spread this page to friends and family; any donation helps!
