Help Marcy and her 4 boys to stay together and build a bridge to relief and stability in Canada:
,,Hello,
My name is Marcy Rempel, and I am urgently seeking financial support to bridge us from a difficult situation and a stable future. Your generosity can make a world of difference for us!
How Your Support Will Help
Your contributions will help cover essential expenses, including:
• Rent: To keep a stable home for my children and avoid homelessness or separation.
• Utility Bills and groceries: Ensuring we have a safe and adequate living environment for the next year where my boys can do their homework, go to school and continue to grow up to be contributing members of society.
• Documents: To get the proper documentation to stay and getting basic support like healthcare etc., which we don't have.
If you're not able to support with money, then l beg you to help share our desperate situation as often it's possible for you, so our goal can be reached son
Our Story
When I was 16, I suffered a severe motorcycle accident in our home town in Paraguay that left me with brain damage and pain. Over time, my health became progressively worse with chronic pain, increasing mobility issues and many other difficulties, and for the last 9 years has left me needing to use a wheelchair for that moments l'm able to leave my bed.
6 years ago, we moved as family from Paraguay to Calgary, Alberta, in search of essential medical care for myself and a better life for our boys. We arrived in Canada (Calgary) on a Temporary Residence Visa, and my husband was able to support us while I found and got medical care.
We were a nice and stable family, but then in December 2022 (4 years later) my husband unexpectedly abandoned us, adding to our difficulties and leaving me as the sole provider for my children. Despite these challenges, I am committed to providing a loving and stable home for my 4 boys, Bruce, Nic, Jos, and Asher.
Still when he was with us my husband didn't complete the application for Permanent Residency for our family. And so now we are stuck in limbo while we wait for the 6 to 18 months processing time for our “Humanitarian and Compassionate” program for Permanent Residency, which l started last year on my own for me and my 4 boys, after we were left without feasible options to move on and also without any medical/physical help for myself.
Without communication with me, my husband also cancelled the lease agreement on our rental house in central Calgary (which we depended on, the rental house which the boys and l continued to live in till mid of this year) and we were evicted already. This happened totally unexpected for us. With my temporary resident status (Visa), no gainful employment, disability challenges and 4 kids, I unfortunately am having trouble finding a lease agreement on my own name. The oldest boys take on some cash jobs to help support us. But it isn’t enough to cover basic expenses like housing, documents and simple daily expenses. We live without much support for a very long time and l'm often extremely exhausted.
My boys and I are currently without many options while we wait for this application to be processed. We have sold most of our belongings and we live in an RV after being recently evicted from the house my husband had rented for our family when we came to Canada few years ago.
Please know that I am able and willing to support my family through remote work and look forward to contributing to Canadian society. For now though, as a Temporary Resident, I am not yet able to access any Disability programs, child care support, or other programs, which we hope will help us rebuild our lives. You cannot imagine how stressful this all is! But for my 4 sons l'm going through every fire imaginable!
To add to the stress, we are now under threat of being separated, as our situation has caught the attention of the local authorities and child protective services threaten to take my youngest boys from me, the single remaining parent in their lives. This would be devastating to all of us because we have a very strong and positive family bond.
We have considered moving to a smaller town in Alberta, but staying in Calgary is important for my family as my children are thriving in their schools here, making friends and participating in extracurricular activities that help them grow and develop. Bruce is studying at Lord Shaughnessy High School with aspirations to become an auto body repair technician. Nic is one of the best students in his grade. Also Jos, and Asher are doing well at school. Please help us stay together!! We're family!!
Due to my disability, I cannot work currently. Neither can l get any medical support anymore since my husband left. Without your help we're not able to stabilize again. These 4 healthy and energetic boys lost their Dad, and should NOT loose their Mom too! Nothing could hurt them more than that. My own heart is bleeding. The boys are waiting for school. We depend on kind people who can help us to overcome this challenges.
We are deeply connected to our local church, which provides a supportive spiritual community for us. My children are actively involved in various church activities, which have helped them form strong connections.
For over a year we also run a very active 24/7 local pantry so people can access food anytime they need. It is essential for us to stay in Calgary, where my children have built a sense of belonging and where we will have access to the healthcare and community support that we need.
In this time of uncertainty, we are reaching out for your compassion and support. Staying in Calgary is necessary for my children's education, well-being, and our ability to maintain the community ties that have been so essential to us. Your generosity will not only provide us with immediate relief from the threat of eviction and separation but will also offer us a chance to rebuild our lives.
Every donation, regardless of size, has a significant impact. By contributing, you are helping to create a brighter and more stable future for my 4 boys. We are sincerely grateful for any support you can provide, whether it's through a donation or by sharing our story with others. I believe that with your support, my family and I can overcome these challenges.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity. Your support gives us hope and the strength to keep moving forward. We're desperately waiting for relief!
Sincerely,
Marcy Rempel (Marils Pantry)
