Support Marcos and Amanda's Mountain Relief Efforts

Simply put, our mountain family was not ready for a 1000 year flood. We were blessed to be in an area that wasn’t wiped off the map and were able to use that blessing to begin helping our community in this crisis as soon as the roads were clear enough to get out on day 3.

When the trees and new rivers were clear enough to escape our street the devastation we found was indescribable. Entire communities destroyed if not just gone. Elderly housing that had been abandoned and tenants who were now fighting for their lives. Countless without food, water, power, heat, and the most basic needs HAD to be helped.

This is when we “got to work.” A wellness check led to rescue and support efforts for an entire elderly living facility that was in desperate need. A dozen visits and supply deliveries has made all the difference there. A connect with some people wanting to bring supplies snowballed into us routing, coordinating delivery, and distribution of supplies to the tune of 12 trucks, 6 trailers, a couple airplanes and countless pickup and car loads. This effort will continue for months. The support needed in the mountains will only grow as temperatures drop. Houses with no water or power until March of 2025 have a horrid winter ahead. We will do everything possible to keep them warm, fed, and alive.

Three weeks of going nonstop has taken its toll physically, emotionally, and financially. This is the first time we’ve been able to assess personal needs and fear they will be ongoing. We have had incredible support in when asking to help our community, we will need the same to remain upright and continue our work. My business is mortgage which will be as devastated as everything else in WNC. Income is a massive question in the weeks ahead, needs are not in question. Everything from rent to gas to get supplies into the mountains is what we will need help with this winter. If you can help us through this, we would be eternally grateful.
