Hello, my name is Marco Whittaker.
I am a Lead and Mold Inspector in New Jersey and New York, a community activist, and a proud NYC Marathon runner.
I am raising funds to launch Run for Second Chances, a program of The Whittaker Foundation dedicated to giving youth from under-resourced communities the mentorship, support, and opportunities they need to succeed. My goals for the 2025 school year are clear:
- Reach more than 500 youth through school and community events
- Provide 200 pairs of running shoes to low-income high school track and field athletes
- Inspire young people with resilience, discipline, and hope
When I was young, I often wished someone would step in and help. For many kids today, a mentor, a pair of shoes, or the chance to run with a team can be life-changing. That is what Run for Second Chances is about, giving them that chance.
How Your Support Will Help
Every gift makes a difference. With your support, we can:
- Provide training gear and race-day support for students in need
- Cover the cost of running shoes for high school athletes who cannot afford them
- Sponsor one youth for a full season of track and field with mentorship and guidance
- Fund community events that inspire hundreds of young people
- Support scholarships, program growth, and resources for kids facing tough challenges
Your generosity gives more than shoes. It gives hope, encouragement, and a second chance. Together, we can run toward brighter futures.
Run for Second Chances is a program of The Whittaker Foundation, a nonprofit organization with 501(c)(3) status pending. All funds received will be used with full transparency toward the goals outlined above, and regular updates will be shared so supporters can see the direct impact of their contributions. Once 501(c)(3) status is approved, all donations will be tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law, including retroactively from the date of incorporation.
