Even if it seems hard to believe, the truth is that Marcela and her family still require financial support to stand up for her children’s best interests. It has been four years since the children’s father was incarcerated for attempted murder and other charges. Family court is expensive, and the family continues to provide legal support to protect the safety and well-being of these wonderful kids. It may not seem just, right or logical. It may seem hard to explain. And what is so is that family court expenses are more than the family can carry on their own.  Marcela and her family need financial support from their community to keep navigating the family court system. It would be an incredible gift of peace and freedom to go into a new decade with legal debt off our family’s plate.
