Just days ago, our beloved Makayla’s life changed in an instant.
While six months pregnant with her second child, Makayla suffered a sudden brain hemorrhage that required emergency hospitalization and multiple brain surgeries. After an initial procedure brought hope that she was improving, her condition unexpectedly worsened, requiring a second emergency surgery to relieve pressure on her brain.
By the grace of God & incredible medical team, Makayla made it through these procedures and remains in the ICU surrounded by her family and medical team. While there have been encouraging signs, she is still in the very early stages of recovery. We are grateful to share that her unborn baby continues to do well and has remained healthy throughout this ordeal.
As Makayla focuses on healing, her husband Alex has remained faithfully by her side while caring for their young daughter and preparing for the arrival of their new baby. The days ahead are filled with uncertainty, medical appointments, rehabilitation, plus time away from work as their family navigates this unimaginable situation.
Those who know Makayla know that she is more than an incredible hairstylist. She is a devoted wife, loving mother, loyal friend, and someone who has spent her career helping others feel beautiful, confident, and cared for. She has touched countless lives through her kindness, generosity and genuine heart.
We are creating this fundraiser to help ease the financial burden facing their family during this difficult season. Donations will help cover lost income, medical expenses, childcare, travel, meals, household bills and the many unexpected costs that come with a prolonged hospital stay and recovery.
Most importantly, we want Alex to be able to focus on what matters most right now: being present for Makayla, their daughter, and their growing family.
If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser and keeping Makayla, Alex, their daughter, and their unborn baby in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you for standing beside this family and reminding them they do not have to walk through this alone.
