My name is Kshira Benton-Johnson, and I’m asking for help for my husband, Maison Johnson, who is fighting for his life every single day. Maison was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer, a diagnosis that most people don’t associate with men, but it’s our reality. He carries the BRCA1 gene mutation, which increases the risk of cancer in men too, but it often goes undetected until it’s too late. The cancer has spread aggressively to his bone marrow, pelvis, spine and his brain, leaving him in constant pain with multiple fractures and making it almost impossible for him to walk or care for himself. He’s had multiple blood transfusions, radiation treatments, and hospitalizations due to infections and kidney complications. We were recently told by doctors that his condition is declining and that the cancer is progressing despite every effort. As his wife, I’ve had to step away from work to care for him full-time, and it’s been one of the hardest things I’ve ever done watching my best friend, the father of my children, slowly lose the ability to do the things he once loved. There are moments where he can’t speak, doesn’t recognize loved ones, or cries from pain that medicine barely touches. But through it all, he still fights, and so do we. I’m raising $40,000 not just for our family’s needs medical bills, transportation, and daily care but also to start something meaningful in his name: a foundation to raise awareness and fund research for male breast cancer, because men like Maison are often overlooked. Every dollar will go toward easing his journey, supporting our children through this heartbreak, and starting the Maxx Foundation to make sure other men get the early testing and care they deserve. If you can’t donate, please share. Please pray. Please help us carry this weight. We’re holding on with everything we have. Love y’all
