Maine Coast Outrigger Canoe Club is Portland Maine’s first paddling club, uniting our water-loving communities, celebrating movement, and sharing in the love of the ocean. As a new club, we are fundraising for an OC6 and a pair of OC1s! We have obtained Pohaku, a 6-seat canoe from John Willams Boat Company, and now want to expand our ability to get more folks out into the beautiful waters of Casco Bay!

Outrigger canoes are ocean-going vessels originally developed in the South Pacific to move from island to island. The design and shape of these canoes, with an outrigger for support through waves and swell, is ideal for the conditions of Casco Bay and Maine’s open ocean, and makes paddling accessible to all! Maine is home to water-loving folks who appreciate and respect the ocean in all its strength and beauty, and outrigger canoe paddling is one of the best ways to enjoy the ocean while connecting with a team of neighbors and friends. Ideal for all ages and abilities!
