UPDATE: Maia Michalsen needed a new aorta valve replacement, unfortunately, they could not do that so they had her on the organ donor list , but before the new organ, she needed her antibodies to go down. The doctors could not get her antibodies down and after being in the hospital for over a month, her kidneys, lungs, and overall body could not withstand. she pasted away April 27th 3:55pm at age 52 with loving family around her, Please help and donate for her funeral services … obituary, and service date will be out soon .. thank you all ~ Hanna Michalsen 

 Hi everyone, this is my mom, Maia Michalsen. A Door County local, at the age of 5, she had her first open-heart surgery for a congenital heart defect of the aorta valve. She then needed another one at the age of 35 an aorta  valve replacement while being a single parent. She is now going into her third open-heart surgery at the age of 52 to replace the tissue valve. Being self employed, owner of Doco Pit Pacs & massage therapist; She will not be able to work for at least three or more months and will have many medical bills. Also, she has severe multiple sclerosis, which makes the recovery even harder. I will be making a CaringBridge page to keep updates on her recovery. Every little bit would make a huge difference.
