Hello, my name is Carlos. I am passionate about Capoeira and have the privilege o being both a practitioner and a teacher of this beautiful Afro-Brazilian art form. Capoeira is much more than movement, it is a way to connect with our ancestry, our true selves, and our cultural identity. It teaches resilience, community, and joy, values that are especially important for children growing up in vulnerable situations.

This Christmas, I am raising funds to support a very special initiative at Mandinga Mirim Cultural Centre in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Mandinga Mirim uses capoeira as a powerful tool for education and social transformation creating inclusive spaces where children and young people can embrace their heritage and build confidence.

Why this matters to me

For many of these children, Christmas is just another day without celebration. I believe every children deserves to feel joy, dignity, and belonging, especially during the holiday season, Mandinga Mirim already makes a huge impact by serving meals, providing therapeutic support, and distributing food and hygiene kits throughout the year. Now, we want to make this Christmas unforgettable for them.

The funds raised will go directly towards organizing Christmas party for the children. We suggest a donation of £10, which covers the cost of supporting one child with a gift, hygiene kit, and a basket of basic food for their family.
