Hi! My name is Mac, and for my Eagle Scout service project, I am building and installing a custom wooden bench for the memory care area at Capistrano Senior Living, an assisted living community for seniors in Southern California.
For the past several years, I have volunteered at Capistrano Senior Living through my school club, where we perform live music for residents each month. Through this experience, I have learned how important it is for seniors, especially those in memory care, to have comforting and familiar spaces that encourage movement, rest, and social connection throughout the day.
This project focuses on building a new bench in a frequently used walking and gathering area within the memory care section of the facility. Right now, residents often spend time in this space, and the bench will provide a safe and welcoming place for residents to stop, sit, relax, and interact with others. The bench helps support both physical comfort and social engagement.
This Eagle Scout project allows me to combine leadership, planning, and teamwork while giving back to a community I care deeply about. By adding this bench to the memory care area, I hope to create a small but meaningful improvement that enhances daily life for residents and makes the space feel warm, inviting, and supportive.
Thank you so much for supporting my Eagle Scout journey and this project!
