For over 60 years, Mabel Flatt quietly loved and served others.
While my father stood behind a pulpit, my mom stood beside people — visiting hospital rooms, cooking meals, praying with families, remembering birthdays, hugging children, showing up again and again when someone needed comfort.
She has always been the gentle heart of our family and our community.
In late January, Mom suffered a traumatic brain injury after a serious fall. After weeks in rehabilitation, she will be discharged soon — but she now requires full-time, around-the-clock care.
She has one strong request: she wants to come home.
We believe home is where she will feel safest, most peaceful, and most like herself.
My dad had carefully prepared for assisted living in retirement, but the cost of full-time in-home care is nearly double what they planned for. It’s an unexpected and overwhelming burden.
After a lifetime of pouring into others, we’re asking for help so that we can now pour back into her.
If you feel moved to support Mabel in this season, any gift — large or small — will go directly toward providing full-time in-home care so she can recover in the comfort and dignity of her own home.
Thank you for loving our family the way Mom has loved so many of you.
