Let’s Build a Playground!
Organized by the Maarif PTO - Playground Special Committee
The Maarif PTO’s mission is to support our school community and enrich the experience of every student academically, spiritually, and socially. While our Islamic curriculum nourishes the soul and mind, our children also need a place to move, play, and simply be kids.
Right now, our school does not have a playground—just an empty yard full of possibility. Every day, students look out and imagine slides, laughter, and a safe space to play together. With your help, we can turn that vision into reality.
This playground is a tribute to the memory and legacy of three beloved members of the Maarif family whom we have recently lost:
Sister Sara Anfouqa, a pillar of our PTO and community leadership, whose warmth, generosity, and creativity touched everyone she met.
Sister Safinaz Matter, whose more than 50 years in education reflected unwavering dedication to children and learning.
Youssef Alzahri, the cherished second-grade baby brother of our current students Rodayna and Imran, whose life—though heartbreakingly short—deeply impacted our community.
Creating a space filled with life, movement, and joy in their honor is a lasting tribute—one that reflects the values they embodied and the children they loved. This playground will stand as a living reminder that their legacy continues through every laugh, game, and shared moment.
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “The most beloved of people to Allah are those who are most beneficial to others.” (Al-Mu‘jam al-Awsaṭ, 6192)
OUR GOAL: Build a safe, durable playground that gives our elementary students the joy, movement, and community every child deserves. Any remaining funds will go directly toward Maarif teachers’ classroom needs.
