Maanasa's Mural Painting Project for Martha's Kitchen
Donation protected
Hello everyone!
My name is Maanasa, and I am an active member of Scout Troop 260 in San Jose, CA. For my Eagle Scout project, I am undertaking the creation of a vibrant mural at Martha's Kitchen, scheduled from May 29th to June 1st. If you are interested in volunteering your time during one of these days, please see this flyer for mural painting details!
Martha's Kitchen provides vital food services, serving up to a quarter million hot meals to community members every month. With this project, we aim to paint a mural that will enhance the atmosphere for the many people who line up to receive food, and install infographics that describe the mural and details Martha's Kitchen's history and mission.
Currently, the freezer box that we will be painting the mural on is painted dark blue, which not only affects its freezing efficiency but also lacks the welcoming and lively vibe that the space deserves. By repainting it with a bright and cheerful mural, we aim to create a more inviting environment for everyone who visits and works there, including the volunteers, recipients, and delivery personnel.
Given the size of the mural (28ft x 8.5ft), the paint costs are substantial, estimated at $750. So far, I have successfully raised $200 through a bake sale at my school and within my scout troop. I am now seeking to raise an additional $550 to cover the remaining costs.
Your support will help bring this mural to life, transforming the space into a more welcoming and positive area for the community. Any contribution, big or small, will be greatly appreciated! Any extra funds will be donated directly to Martha's Kitchen.
Thank you so much for your support!
Sincerely,
Maanasa
