Support Lynette & Ryan with Vital Medical Appointments
Donation protected
My name is Monique Lovell, and I'm writing on behalf of Lynette Kellam and Ryan Lovell, my best friend and brother.
Recently, Lynette and Ryan lost their precious baby girl, Callie Mae Lovell on the 26/01/2025.
Lynette struggled with hypertension throughout her pregnancy and was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia the day before Callie was born on Saturday 25/02/2025.
In the last reading on the CTG scan, at approximately 6 pm, Lynette and Ryan were told that Callie was well. However, at 8:46 pm that night, unbeknownst to everyone, including the medical staff, Callie was born as a stillborn. Her cause of death is still unknown.
I write to you because my family and Lynette's family need help with the financial aspect of the care that Lynette and Ryan both desperately need after this traumatic event. We've been told that an initial perinatal psychiatrist appointment for one of them is $650 as the care they need is highly specialised. This does not include follow-up appointments that will most likely be weekly for a long time. In Australia, a follow-up appointment is around $200, however, a perinatal specialist charges upward of $300 per appointment with minimal support from Medicare.
Research suggests that people need 15-20 sessions before their symptoms improve. This means that it would cost roughly $4000 each to get the help they need, or almost $8000 for both of them. This does not include any doctor appointments that Lynette needs to ensure her pre-eclampsia does not get worse, where only some of it is covered by Medicare.
Our families are unfortunately unable to help them any more than we already have due to our own inability to work for weeks on end from trauma or unable to work our usual shifts. We are also seeking our own care and treatment needed to cope with the events surrounding Callie's death. This means we are unable to financially support them in the way that they are so desperately in need of.
We're reaching out for any help possible and any amount you can donate is much appreciated.
With Love,
