Support Lynda's Journey In Her New Reality

Hi, my name is Cat and I am the proud daughter of one of the very best women to ever grace our planet - my beautiful mom, Lynda Madden Dahl.

While she would quite literally detest the very idea of this particular Go Fund Me, I'm creating it with the utmost love and hope that it will help her live as happily and safely as possible in these last days of her life.

Anyone who knows my mom knows she's displayed a superior ability to create a healthy body and mind for almost every day of her 81 years of life. Until a few years ago. My mom -- the strongest, most mentally sharp communicator, author and speaker -- has been dealt a blow so cruel, so absolutely unfair yet tragically too-common with our elderly loved ones. Mental Disease found this remarkable soul and has stolen her ability to live her wonderfully independent Life by the Sea.

Last year, mom left her beloved home in Dana Point, her beloved Stan under the old oak tree on the cliff, most of her possessions and many of her memories, to move to Florida to live with my brother and his family. While they have tried their very best to give her everything she needs, mom is struggling. This disease is taking away her ability to be the shining light she once was for all of us and it’s becoming more clear daily that she needs greater care than we are able to give. My hope is to bring her back here to be with me and my family in her beloved California, with the understanding that extensive healthcare is in our very near future.

My husband and I are ever-aspiring actors, who work at wonderful day jobs (he's an elementary school substitute and I'm an assistant admin for a small company) to make ends meet. With our daughter, tri-pod dog, and three foundling kitties, we don't have much in our tiny budget to make this kind of magic happen. But my hope is that this effort will help us offer mom and her two sweet kitties a loving home as long as we can, and the ability to ensure she is cared for in all of her remaining days.

Lynda Madden Dahl has been a beacon and guiding light to so many, never asking for or even accepting anything in return. In this last chapter of her physical story, I hope to bring back some of the love and goodness she has given to the world and surround her in it. As much as I've loved and admired and cherished her- and I'm so grateful she always knew it- this would be my greatest gift to her.

My family and I want to thank in advance anyone who contributes to this most sincere act of love and hope.
