Support my my Grandfather's funeral

Hi, my name is Lyara, and I’m 17 years old.

Back in May, after living with my grandfather for about a year, my family and I moved to Jacksonville, Florida. At the end of last month, my grandfather—who’s diabetic—got a foot infection that had previously went away and now came back worse. It spread into his bloodstream and then to his heart. Now, his organs are starting to shut down, and he’s been placed in palliative care as the hospital said there is nothing more he can do to him but make him comfortable till he passes.

Right now, we’re staying at a family members house, but we’re trying to move out at the same time and also find a way to raise money for his funeral. The problem is that my mom doesn’t make enough money to handle all three of those things. Even with our whole family combined, we can’t cover the cost of the funeral due to most of us already struggling to begin with.

We’re in a tough spot right now, and I’m doing my best to find a job so I can help out. In the meantime, I’m starting this fundraiser to try to take some pressure off my family.

Any donations would mean the world to us. I’ve included recent and old photos of my grandfather. I don’t usually like taking pictures, but I wanted to share something personal. Both photos are from my mom's and my uncle’s Facebook.

All the money will go toward my grandfather’s funeral.
