Support Lutz: Stop the Townhomes Plan

Hello, my name is Demelza Hays, Ph.D., and I live in Lutz. I'm setting up this GoFundMe to raise $10000 to retain a land-use lawyer to represent us against Hill Ward Henderson and Eisenhower Property Group. Our goal is to stop 150 townhomes from being built in Lutz on Holly Lane. Since we are going up against lawyers, we feel that a lawyer on our side can help bolster our case. We would like the lawyer to help us with the following:

1. Reviewing all of the documents submitted by the developer regarding this parcel and crafting the best arguments against the development and specific wording that we can use to strengthen our speeches and opposition letters.

2. Attending the public hearing on July 14th to represent our interests (Update: We won!!!)

3. Attending the public hearing in August to represent our interests.

4. Attending the public hearing in September to represent our interests.

We have already raised $600 (myself for $500 and a gentleman who donated $100 at the Lutz Civic Association meeting, thank you.) If you can only donate $5 - $50, that is still greatly appreciated. If we do not hire a lawyer for some reason, all money will be returned.

We have hired John Dingfelder. John Dingfelder has been practicing law for 30 years. John Dingfelder served on Tampa City Council for ten years, and has served on almost every public board in Hillsborough County. We successfully won the July 14th meeting with 7-0 in our favor. We still need to fight hard in order to prepare for the Board of County Commissioners Meeting on August 14.

Please send your opposition letters to the planning commission and Board of County Commissioners, so that they know a lot of people oppose this development. Please also attend the informal meeting with Level Consulting on July 23, and most importantly, please attend the meeting with the BOCC on August 14 to ensure that the commissioners know we are united against the townhomes.
