My name is Joanna. I have been friends with Lulu for almost 20 years and my life was better with her in it.

Her passing at 41 is unimaginable. She leaves behind a family who loves her and a community who will miss her so very much.

Lulu was diagnosed with CJD - Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease. We have always said she was one in a million but this diagnosis proved it.

CJD occurs at a prevalence rate of 1-2 cases per one million population per year, making it a rare disease and sadly untreatable.

Lulu's pride and joy is her son Logan. Logan is 12 and a phenomenal Baseball Player. She was his biggest cheerleader.

As a bonus Mom to Humberto’s daughters she was very proud of their efforts. Jasmine is completing her final year at college in Santa Cruz. Dianna’s daughter Camilla who is almost one has brought many smiles during a very sad time.

We are hoping to give back some of the amazing support and care that Humberto and his family have given to Lulu over the last year. With constant care necessary there has been no income from Humberto's business and Lulu has not worked since March 2023.
