Support Luke's Journey to Connect and Create

My name is Luke Watson and I am trying to change the world. I am 42 and have worked in the food industry since I was 14, cooking, serving, managing, and bartending. I also operated a free-with-any-donation food truck for 3 years before Covid. So I technically was "changing the world" just on a granular level.

In October, I came down with chronic foot pain and can no longer work on my feet for more than a few hours. The doctors simply said, "just wear insoles and stay off your feet." I tried four sessions of acupuncture with its subsequent home-care routine to no avail. So with that encouraging development, how do I make a living while still contributing to my community? Start a wealth-sharing app that allows users to support people, independent bands, and small businesses. (Please inquire for full pitch!)

I have had several meetings with local entrepreneurs and app developers to some benefit, and I have sent letters/emails to John Stewart, Seth Meyers, David Wain, Josh Johnson, Bernie Sanders, David Byrne, Malcom Gladwell, the Do Good Institute, This American Life, Radiolab, and Fat Wreck Chords in hopes of collaboration. My decision to reach out to those with means is due to the urgency of our (and my) current situation.

I also want to take my two daughters (12 and 9) to Japan to meet my mom for the first time. My mom moved back to Japan a year before my first child was born and has not visited due to lack of funds. I just received a letter from her after 18 months of nothing (we were so worried something happened to her!) saying she was sick several times, lost her job, and had to move.

So! That being said, I need help paying bills while funding this app start-up while also squeezing in 2-3 weeks to visit my mom in Japan.
