This past week, Me and my family received the kind of heartbreaking news that no family should ever have to face. Lucas who is only 8 years old and is the youngest child in our family has been diagnosed with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

Lucas is the absolute sweetest boy—with the brightest smile—that lights up every room he walks into. He’s the youngest of five siblings and is deeply loved by his close-knit family. He enjoys drawing, going to church, and spending time with those he loves most.

Today, Lucas underwent a critical procedure to place a central venous catheter (also known as a central line)—a thin, flexible tube inserted into a large vein near the heart—to prepare for the long and difficult treatment journey ahead.

As my family begins navigating this unimaginable challenge, your generosity can help lift a tremendous burden. Donations will go toward medical bills, transportation, meals, and other expenses so that Lucas’ parents can focus entirely on his recovery without added financial stress.
