Support Louis Zuniga's Eagle Scout Project

My name is Louis Zuniga, and I’m a Boy Scout in Troop 800 in Chula Vista, CA. I’ve been in Scouting for 12 years and am currently working towards my Eagle Scout rank. To become an Eagle Scout, I must choose a project that helps the community.

For my Eagle project, I chose to help The Chula Vista Live Steamers by building and replacing benches at Rohr Park. The Chula Vista Live Steamers (CVLS) were established in January of 1974, and it’s a group of people interested in building and operating scale models of live steam machinery. Their club exists to provide members and the public a way to recreate railroads of the past and present, serving as educational entertainment for both kids and adults alike. They provide an opportunity for the public to visit on their run days, where they encourage everyone to come out and ride on their trains. Building and replacing their benches will help The Chula Vista Live Steamers have a place for kids and adults to sit while they wait to learn about the trains and get to ride them.

I received approval to proceed with my project and I am hoping to complete it by the end of March 2025.
