I'm going to withdraw the funds and donate the entirety to the Loudoun Hospitality and Tourism Relief Fund organized by Visit Loudoun and the Community Foundation for Loudoun and Northern Fauquier Counties. I'd encourage anyone who wants to continue giving to the hospitality industry -- which includes F&B professionals -- to consider this fund. Hope everyone's hanging in there!

Thank you to everyone who has donated. Let's keep the funds coming in for the next few days. This week I plan to reach out to local hospitality representatives to discuss distributing the funds. I'd also like some input from y'all on how you think this money can do the most good. Please email your thoughts to [email redacted]. I will provide an update on the plans by this weekend at the latest.
In the meantime, let's try to get this thing up over $1,000 being making a withdrawal. Thanks again, and I hope everyone is safe and sane (as can possibly be expected). Don't forget to shop local and order takeout from your favorite local restaurants as long as you feel comfortable going out.

Many friends and people I profoundly respect are facing trying times during the coronavirus pandemic. We must support them. Think about it: Where are we all heading to celebrate after we get through this thing?
I briefly paused to create this campaign, because there are outstanding questions to be answered. How do we distribute the funds raised? Is this the most efficient way to show support? How does this GoFundMe thing actually work? (I'm a first-timer here.)
I kept coming back to, “Let's deal with all that later.” Right now let's start a hub to raise money that will, even in the slightest, help the tenacious workers of Loudoun County's service industry. I'll work with respected and long-time industry leaders to ensure we take every measure possible to get this money into the hands of those that need it the most.
Cheers, everyone. We'll get through this, and let's have a hell of a time celebrating after we do.
