Lorraine is a big-hearted, Jesus-loving nurse who has always poured her soul into caring for others. She has been out of work due to an injury and was just preparing to return to the workforce when this devastating situation transpired. She has a beautiful 15-year-old daughter who is about to enter her sophomore year, a kind-hearted and bright young lady, and a 17-year-old son who aspires to be a Marine and is entering his senior year.  They are facing one of the most devastating times imaginable.

Lorraine, my cousin, recently survived a horrific domestic violence assault at the hands of her husband. During the attack, she feared for her life and believed he was trying to kill her. After the assault, he stole her only vehicle and fled, leading law enforcement on a high-speed pursuit that ended when deputies fatally shot him. In an instant, Lorraine’s family’s world was turned upside down.

Now, Lorraine is left to raise her two children alone while navigating unimaginable grief, trauma, and financial hardship. She is currently unemployed, has lost her primary means of transportation, and is trying to provide her children with the safety and stability they desperately need after experiencing such a traumatic event. Your donations will help provide safe and stable housing, transportation, food and daily necessities, clothing and school supplies for the children, trauma counseling and mental health support, and other immediate expenses as they begin rebuilding their lives.

No mother or child should have to endure the devastating effects of domestic violence.
