Hello! My name is Lore Youngpeter, and I am a 17-year-old Life Scout working toward the highest rank in Scouting, Eagle. This is something I have dreamed of since I began Scouting at age 11, and a major part of achieving it is the Eagle service project, one that I will develop and lead.
For my project, I am building a new sound mixer cart for the Lake Orion High School marching band. I've been part of the band program for two years as a guitarist, percussionist, and drum major, and it has been a huge blessing with people and music that have changed my life for the better. My Eagle Scout project is an opportunity for me to give back to a program that has given so much to me, and upgrading well-loved equipment will be extremely beneficial for current and future students.
However, the material cost for this project is approximately $2,000, and neither I nor the school band boosters can cover this alone. I am therefore asking for donations to help fund my Eagle project, and will also be opening a sign-up to donate supplies and tools closer to my build dates.
Any donations that aren't used to fund my project will go toward other expenses for the Lake Orion band program, including, but not limited to:
- Instrument repairs and replacements
- Uniform costs
- Sheet music and show design
- New electronics (speakers, microphones, cables, mixer)
- Overnight trips (including competitions)
- Lowering marching band and winter program fees... which will allow more students to participate!
Through my project, I am not just looking to achieve my goal of becoming an Eagle Scout, but to help make the life-changing opportunities I had in band possible for others. Whether you decide to donate or share, every little bit helps. Thank you so much!
