Hello, my name is Neide Silva Sarausa, and I am a grandmother asking for help to protect my grandson, Lorenzo.
After months away from his home due to serious family circumstances, Lorenzo has been authorized to return to the United States. However, his return comes with urgent legal, emotional, and reintegration costs that our family cannot handle alone.
Lorenzo spent several months away from his home in the United States due to serious and complex family circumstances that are now being addressed through the proper legal channels with the involvement of U.S. authorities. During this time, he was separated from his father, his school, his friends, and the stable environment every child needs to grow and feel safe.
As a grandmother, watching a child go through emotional distress, uncertainty, and disruption is heartbreaking.
After an intense international legal process involving the U.S. Department of State and the federal courts, Lorenzo’s return to the United States has finally been authorized. This is a moment of hope for our family — but it also brings significant and urgent financial challenges.
My son Michel has done everything in his power to protect Lorenzo and prepare a safe, loving, and stable home for his return. However, the costs associated with international travel, legal proceedings, documentation, school reintegration, emotional support, and ongoing custody protection are overwhelming for one parent to manage alone.
That is why I am asking for help.
Even a $10 or $20 donation helps with legal and school-related costs. Thank you for supporting Lorenzo.
WHY YOUR SUPPORT IS SO IMPORTANT
Lorenzo’s return and protection require immediate resources, including:
✈️ International travel for his safe return
⚖️ Legal costs related to the Hague process and federal proceedings
Official documentation, translations, and required fees
Basic necessities to prepare his home and daily life
School reintegration expenses
Psychological support to help him heal emotionally
Transportation and essential logistics
Most importantly: Legal protection through a custody attorney
Once Lorenzo returns to the U.S., it is critical to immediately secure:
Emergency temporary custody
Court-ordered travel restrictions to prevent another unlawful removal
Long-term custody arrangements
A structured and safe parenting plan
Ongoing legal representation to protect his well-being
Custody attorneys in Colorado typically require retainters between $5,000 and $8,000, plus additional legal costs. This protection is absolutely essential to ensure Lorenzo’s safety, stability, and future.
FUNDRAISING GOAL: $20,000
This amount reflects the real and necessary costs to protect and rebuild Lorenzo’s life, including:
International travel: ~$1,800
Prior Hague-related legal costs: ~$10,000
Documentation and fees: ~$600
Home essentials and daily needs: ~$1,000
School-related costs: ~$200
Psychological support: ~$500
Transportation/logistics: ~$200
Custody attorney and legal protection: $8,000–$10,000
Platform fees and a small cushion for unavoidable emergencies
A GRANDMOTHER’S APPEAL
Lorenzo is a kind, intelligent, and sensitive child. He deserves peace, safety, love, and stability. No child should have to endure uncertainty, fear, or prolonged separation from a parent.
As a grandmother, I am humbly asking for your support — whether through a donation or by sharing this campaign. Every contribution helps us protect Lorenzo and give him the chance to heal and rebuild his life in a safe environment.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has already donated or shared this campaign.
Every contribution helps us move closer to ensuring Lorenzo’s safe return, legal protection, and emotional stability.
We are still at the beginning of this journey, and your support — even by sharing — truly makes a difference.
With gratitude,
Neide Silva Sarausa
Grandmother of Lorenzo
