All our members are volunteers who pay for their own personal gear, transport, medical expenses and even training. Often when called upon we must organise time off from work to carry out our vital work. While we usually operate in the Longford and Midlands area, the unit is often asked to search nationwide

Co. Longford Scuba Divers Search & Recovery have been involved in Search and Revcovery (SAR) operations in local communities and nationwide since 1989. The work of the unit varies from providing rescue cover for water-based events, to the grimmer task of recovery of missing persons from local waterways.  Over that period we have participated in over 100 search and recovery operations across Ireland often working in the most difficult of conditions - both on and offshore.

Where your money goes 
Co. Longford Scuba Divers Search & Recovery is a completely voluntary body. Every cent received in funding is very warmly appreciated and will go towards our voluntary efforts. Any funds donated are used to fund our vital work by contributing towards purchase and maintenance of club equipment, insurance, fuel and other operating costs. The day-to-day operating costs of the Search and Recovery Unit are entirely funded by donations and we could not continue this vital work without your help.
