Hi, I’m Tracy and I’m proud to support Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team (LMRT). My son, Cameron is one of their dedicated volunteers - you’ll spot him in orange, blue and yellow.
LMRT is a voluntary organisation, on call 24/7, 365 days a year, covering some of the UK’s most challenging terrain - from the top of Ben Nevis to the remotest glens. They’re the ones who show up in every season, in every condition, when people need help the most.
Right now, the team urgently needs to replace their mobile command and rescue vehicle - the heart of their operations. This vehicle is more than just transport: it’s a communications hub, a coordination centre, and an ambulance that ensures casualties are safely brought off the hill. Without it, their ability to respond quickly and effectively is at serious risk.
So, I’m stepping up - literally.
Starting on the 1st of October I’ll be walking 7,500 steps (5km) every day for a month - that’s 232,500 steps in total. It is a big challenge for me, especially as I live with osteo and rheumatoid arthritis, but I’m determined to complete every single step, rain or shine, light or dark.
I’m doing this to raise awareness of LMRT’s life saving work and to raise funds for their new command vehicle - they need £120,000, and every donation brings them closer to their target.
How you can help:
- Donate whatever you can - every pound makes a difference.
- Share this campaign with your friends, family and networks.
- Talk about LMRT and the incredible work they do - help spread the word.
Thank you so much for reading and supporting me and Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team. Your encouragement means the world - and will help save lives.
