Support Local Reggae Legend Selecta Toy

Fighting serious health problems, one of the founders of reggae culture in Portugal - Selecta Toy (Ras Tatá Kongo) has been let down by the system in Portugal. While in a coma in hospital, his house on the southern bank of the Tejo was demolished. After returning from hospital, he has been left homeless and without support. He is currently living in very unstable conditions, far from his community.

We are raising funds to support Toy in this difficult time and will also come together at the Jardim da Cerca da Graça, Lisboa, this Saturday 10th of August, to share in a celebration of life, music and community. The event is 14:00-21:00 and is free entry.

Lutando contra graves problemas de saúde, um dos fundadores da cultura reggae em Portugal - Selecta Toy (Ras Tatá Kongo) foi decepcionado pelo sistema em Portugal. Enquanto estava em coma no hospital, a sua casa na margem sul do Tejo foi demolida. Depois de voltar do hospital, ele ficou desabrigado e sem apoio. Atualmente ele vive em condições muito instáveis, longe de sua comunidade.

Estamos a angariar fundos para apoiar a Toy neste momento difícil e também nos reuniremos no Jardim da Cerca da Graça, em Lisboa, neste sábado, dia 10 de agosto, para partilhar uma celebração da vida, da música e da comunidade. O evento acontece das 14h às 21h e tem entrada gratuita.
