Over the past weekend, my father’s auto body shop—a family business that he has run for over 20 years—was broken into and completely emptied out. Thieves stole over $80,000 worth of tools and equipment, along with two customer vehicles: a Ferrari and a Mini Cooper.
Thankfully, both vehicles were eventually recovered, but the Mini Cooper was found completely totaled, and the condition of the Ferrari is still uncertain.
Unfortunately, nearly all of my dad’s tools—tools he has spent decades collecting and using every day—are still missing. These weren’t just tools; they were the backbone of his business and how he provides for our family. With them gone, he can’t work or take on new jobs.
Here is just part of the many tools that were taken out of the $80,000 worth of inventory stolen: multiple Snap-on diagnostic scanners; multiple Snap-On & DeWalt air ratchets, air impacts, cordless battery ratchets & cordless impact guns; battery chargers & jumper boxes; Miller welding equipment; plasma cutters; shop vacs; & professional paint & clear guns.
My dad has always been the kind of person who helps others—whether it’s fixing someone’s car late at night or going the extra mile for a customer. Now he’s the one who needs help, and it’s not easy for him to ask. That’s why I’m asking for him.
I’m creating this GoFundMe to help replace the stolen tools and equipment so he can get back to doing what he loves and reopen the shop he’s worked so hard to build.
Any support—whether it’s a donation or simply sharing this page—would mean the world to us. Thank you so much for taking the time to read and for helping my dad get back on his feet.
