My name os Laura Hill. I am a small busienss owner and active member of the Bakersfield community. I’m also a mom of four children and have been a 4H mom supporting my daughters who raised and showed goats.

In the beginning when we were learning, we never consumed our own animals. But then I realized that we were missing not only the real reason we were raising animals, but also the highest quality meat you can get. We decided to start allowing our show animals to also feed our family. It was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made.

The Kern County junior livestock competitions are some of the most competitive in our nation. Our kids work so hard to raise quality animals. It take a lot of time, hard work and money to do it. These young people also learn the value of creating a profitable program, how to budget, and how to sell their product.

We can help these young individuals by buying their animals. The money will be used to fund future projects or help them pay for their expenses. We can also help ourselves, by buying meat products raised locally, ethically, and sustainably.

Your contribution will entitle you to quality meat, either lamb, goat, pork or beef products. The amount of your contribution will dictate the amount of product you receive. If you chose not to receive meat, then your portion will be donated back to our local food bank further supporting our community.

I can think of no better investment than one into our children, our community, and our own health. Thank you for supporting local 4H and FFA programs.
