Hi everyone, my name is Aeriella and I am the oldest child of Liz Izzo. I am starting this GoFundMe for my mother, who is currently recovering from emergency open-heart surgery. While this has been a hard and unexpected couple of days, I wanted to share a little insight on what happened...

Early Sunday morning, my mom started having really bad chest pains. With my mom being as tough as she is, we took this very seriously as we know it's very unusual for her to complain about pain. At first, we weren’t sure how serious it was, but by Monday morning, things took a sudden and scary turn. She was airlifted to Orlando Regional Medical Center and rushed straight into emergency surgery. They found two major blockages and said the entire left side of her heart wasn’t functioning like it should. She had to have open-heart surgery for a double bypass right away.

As scary as the past couple of days have been, we are extremely grateful she made it in time before suffering a severe heart attack.

As many know, my mom is a single mom to four kids. She works endlessly every week to be able to provide for each of us. With her going through this so suddenly and unexpectedly, I, as her daughter, have decided to put this together in hopes to help support her long road to recovery ahead and lessen the stress and financial worry on her as she will not be able to work while she recovers. Unfortunately, the cost of medical bills, medications and follow-ups, in-home care, and physical therapy to come is going to continue to pile up.

If you know my mom, you know how strong and selfless she is. Her heart has always been there for others and now it’s her heart that needs healing. I truly believe she’s going to get through this, but she needs time, rest, and support to do that.
