Support Littleglobe's Community Storytellers

Littleglobe, Santa Fe’s multi arts, storytelling nonprofit, is raising money for the third cohort of Community Storytellers. We believe that our communities thrive when all members are seen and heard. The Community Storytellers Program, created over the past couple years in partnership with grassroots neighborhood-based organizations and allies, provides the tools and training for people to tell their own stories, authoring their first films. In this way, stories are not told about people, but by them. This is an important form of equity, keeping power and self-determination in the hands of the residents who call this place home.

Each cohort consists of a diverse set of residents from across the community. Often our youngest members are teenagers and our oldest in their 80s. Our last cohort had 100 applicants from which we chose 12, giving preference to people and stories that are often left out in the dialog about our city. Not only is the program free to participants, but we also offer stipends as a way to support a broader range of community members to be able to take the time needed to participate.

This three month long program, now in its third year, needs funding. Support will directly go toward participant stipends, equitable pay for our supporting mentors and educators, adequate equipment, and events for sharing the resulting films. The next Community Storytellers will take place February-April 2024 with applications opening in December.
