My name is Vicki Sepulveda and I am writing this on behalf of my sister, Lisa, who is facing an overwhelming and painful transition after nearly 18 years of marriage.

Lisa is preparing to file for divorce following years of marital issues that only came fully to light after her husband obtained U.S. citizenship. In the time since, she discovered long-term infidelity and serious financial concerns that have left her emotionally and financially vulnerable.

She has reason to believe that significant household funds were sent overseas for an extended period of time, potentially to support another relationship. Her husband is originally from Kenya, and the international nature of these financial concerns has added complexity to a process that is already difficult to navigate without legal guidance. The full scope of these matters is still being uncovered through the legal process.

As a result of this financial instability, Lisa is now facing the very real risk of losing stable housing and reliable transportation. Without immediate legal protection and financial support, there is a possibility that she could become homeless and lose her vehicle, which would make it nearly impossible for her to regain employment or maintain medical care.

For many years, Lisa supported herself through childcare services. Due to instability in her marriage and her declining health, she lost her clients and her primary source of income. She is currently managing health challenges while trying to protect herself legally and rebuild her life.

Lisa does have some personal funds available, and she is contributing what she can toward this process. Unfortunately, those funds are not enough to cover the costs required to secure legal representation and basic stability during this transition.

Lisa has always been a devoted sister, aunt, and grandmother who has spent years caring for others, and it is incredibly difficult for her to now be in a position where she needs help herself.

Funds raised will be used to help cover:

Divorce filing fees and court costs

Attorney consultations and legal retainer fees

Moving expenses and first month’s rent

Transportation-related expenses

Essential living and medical needs

Lisa is not asking for luxury or excess — only for the ability to move forward with legal protection, housing stability, and dignity during an incredibly vulnerable time.
