Help Us Keep Our Home – Support for Rent and Family Stability

Story:

Hi, my name is Lisa .I’m reaching out with a heavy heart and a hopeful spirit. I’m a mother and a grandmother doing my best to help provide a home for my daughter ( who is a single mom) and young grandson during an incredibly difficult time.

The past year has been challenging, with so many changes. New baby( via emergency c section), emergency gallbladder surgery, which after insurance, I owe over $6,000.

Recently, my daughter lost her job, before this I had changed jobs , with less pay but much less stress. and as a result, we’ve fallen behind on our rent. She’s actively searching and has some strong leads—so we’re hopeful she’ll be back to work soon. In the meantime, we’re facing the very real risk of eviction, and it’s more than we can handle on our own right now.

I’m asking for help with our back rent , utilities and groceries for the next month —just enough to keep us in our home until my daughter is back on her feet and we are caught up.. Any support, no matter how small, will help us stay in our apartment.

I know there are so many that are much worse off than me, I have hesitated until the last minute to do this.

Please know this is my last stop as I have tried all of the local resources. I either make too much money to qualify, or no funds are available. Quite frankly I have to set any pride aside and ask for help.
