Help a local robotics team manage their storage.
Hello, my name is Daniel Lew. I am a junior at KIPP King Collegiate and a member of Scouting America at Troop 612 in San Leandro. Right now, I am working on becoming an Eagle Scout, and as part of the trail to becoming an Eagle Scout, I am doing a service project to benefit my school's robotics team.
The robotics team is FRC Team 7245 Lionbot Robotics. The team works hard all year long to get ready for competitions all over the Bay Area, putting in countless hours every week to ensure that they have the best robot possible. Recently, due to my school's overall lack of room, the team had to give up their storage closet, which has led to difficulties in easily accessing materials and constructing robots. There have also been issues in the management of the team's batteries, which are an essential component in making the robot run both in easily getting access to the batteries and charging the batteries.
My project is to construct a new shed specifically for the Lionbots and assist in the creation of a battery cart. With the project funds, I intend to construct a 7ft by 7ft shed near the robotics workshop for the storage of our raw materials. The model of the shed was chosen based on both prior sheds used by the school and a discussion with the advisor for the robotics team. The decision to create a battery cart was made based on consultation with the electrical division of the robotics club and by looking at how other robotics teams managed their batteries.
By donating to this project, you will help young engineers and thinkers reach their goals and assist in the Lionbots' efforts to make STEM more accessible for all. Any extra proceeds will be given directly to the Lionbots. Please check out the Lionbots at this link!
Thank you for your time and consideration.
