Linda & Steve Grandt – House Fire

Donna Roberts and I, Karen Brady, are starting this fundraiser for our sister, Linda, and her husband, Steve, along with the grandkids who live with them, Riley and Cassy, as well as two dogs, Lucy and Pumpkin. Everyone is okay physically. Tuesday, June 3rd, at 2:30 pm, Linda detected an electrical smell in her home. She ran outside to see the side of their double-wide mobile home on fire at the point of entry for power into the house. Living in a rural neighborhood for the last 14 years has made them very aware of the fact that emergency responders have a long way to travel to reach an emergency. Their home has been categorized as a complete loss. Steve has been retired for some time now, and Linda recently retired from her job with the county transportation department. They live on a fixed income and a tight budget and are now staying in a motel. They have lost everything: clothing, all their furnishings, and a kitchen for cooking. Insurance takes some time to process. They need a little help to get through these early days and return to some normalcy until they can get things back on track.
