Hi everyone,
This July, I have the opportunity (alongside my mom!) to participate in a volunteer medical brigade in Honduras with HOPEworldwide. Their mission aims to “partner with neighbors in need, equip volunteers, respond to disasters, and strengthen communities to inspire greater hope in our world.”
Over the course of the 4-day trip, I will help run mobile clinics, distribute medical supplies, and share health education with families in underserved areas.
What makes this trip especially meaningful to me is how it brings together two important parts of my life: serving through healthcare & building intercultural connections. As a Health Science and Spanish major at Northeastern University, this trip is a unique opportunity to step into both of those worlds–to serve through care, connection, and communication.
I've volunteered with HOPEworldwide in the past, helping with service projects in Fairbanks, AK; Schwenksville, PA; and Boston, MA. Each of these experiences has deepened my commitment to service, and I’m incredibly excited to continue that journey abroad in Honduras.
The total cost of the trip is around $2,000, which covers:
- Flights, lodging, meals, and transportation
- Medical supplies and outreach materials
- A monetary contribution to HOPEworldwide’s programs in Honduras
I’m working hard to cover as much as I can, but I’d be so grateful for any help–whether that’s through a donation, a share, or just encouragement. If you’d like to help me get there, please donate via:
- GoFundMe
- Check: 40 Brentwood Road, Woburn, MA 01801
- Venmo: @liliannasantos_
Thank you so much for reading, sharing, and supporting me. I’m incredibly excited, but mostly grateful for the chance to go to Honduras and serve!
