Support Liel's Journey with an Autism Service Dog

Hello! My name is Liel Miller-Petzak. I am 5 years old, and I love animals and water! I also love to play the piano, learn French and tell knock knock jokes. My favorite food is mac-n-cheese. Ewww I do not like veggies or fruits!!! But I love to play ALL THE TIME!!! Sitting still and moving on to the next thing is so hard for me. I love to be super loud but do not like loud noises. So please shhhhhh........

Liel is a gifted and loving child. At age one and half, she was reading words and identifying numbers. At age 2, she was singing the alphabet in English, Spanish and Russian. Although Liel has a speech delay, we knew for sure she would succeed academically; however once placed in a social learning environment Liel struggled severely emotionally and socially. In April 2022, Liel was diagnosed autism spectrum disorder. In July 2024, Liel was diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Early interventions such as occupational therapy, speech therapy, applied behavioral analysis (ABA therapy) and play therapy were immediately implemented and now continue to provide Liel and our family the tools to progress daily! This journey is one we call a "beautiful struggle."

An Autism Service dog would change Liel's life in many aspects. The priority being SAFETY. A service dog would keep Liel safe when surrounded by deep waters when swimming and boating. A service dog would help calm anxieties in overwhelming environments, during transitions, and traveling. A service dog will be an emotional support companion for a lifetime and promote confidence and independence!
