Support Liam's Battle: Rare Infection
Donation protected
My name is Diane Cochrane. I am Liam Whitehead's great aunt. We are praying for a Christmas Miracle for Liam Whitehead. Liam turns 14 on 12/06/24. He has been diagnosed with Necrotizing Fasciitis. It is an extremely RARE and AGGRESSIVE bacterial infection that destroys skin and fascia. Fascia is a thin casing of the connective tissue that surrounds and holds every organ, blood vessel, bone, nerve fiber, and muscle in place. The tissue does more than provide internal structure. Fascia has nerves that make it almost as sensitive as skin.
This devastating news has turned his family upside down. Liam's father (my nephew) Dustin Whitehead has been by his side day and night since 11/09/2024, except for a couple of days. Even though his job is secured, he has not been paid during this time. Dustin Whitehead is reaching out for support.
Liam is an incredibly brave and resilient young boy. Before the disease, he was extremely athletic and an honor student. He loves baseball, football, and wrestling. His favorite baseball team is the STL Cardinals.
Despite his illness, he remains optimistic and determined to overcome this challenge.
The medical bills are piling up, and the family is facing significant expenses for Liam's treatment.
Since 11/09/24, he has been subjected to seven OR procedures. The first major surgery took place on 11/21/24. It was meant to be a 10-hour surgery that turned into a 12-hour surgery due to some unforeseen complications. The surgeons went back in on 12/02/24. Unfortunately, the skin graft and tissue did not take. New surgery has been scheduled for 12/07/24. In the meantime, the wound vac is in place.
Your donation will help cover these costs and ensure Liam receives the BEST possible care. Please help support Liam's medical journey. Any contribution, big or small, will bring the family closer to helping Liam beat this horrific, life-threatening disease.
Please consider sharing this campaign with your friends and family to help spread the word.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support during this difficult time.
